Sunday afternoon obsession

Today I'm obsessed with Tim Tams (when i say today I actually mean the past 2 months). I've never been a huge fan of Tim Tams, but since leaving the country and not having access to this chocolate coated biscuits, I just want one or two or the whole packet!! Absence has really made my heart grow fonder for Tim Tams.
The classic dark are the best... especially in the TIM TAM SLAM. I have been avoiding them in the supermarket but Woolies (damn woolies) had a special too good to go past.
As I sit here eatting my classic dark Tim Tam I've been exploring youtube for tim tam slam clips - check them out..

10 Things I MISS about America

1. Turning right on a red light if there isn't any oncoming traffic
3. Travelling - there was so much more to see and do... just ran out of time
4. Zense Thai restaurant - great food, great price and the waiter wore socks and thongs
5. Music festivals like South by South West in Austin and the New Orleans Jazz Festival
6. Shopping
7. My friends that I met over there... I miss them so much already
8. The craft stores like Hobby Lobby - they are huge.
9. The concept of Walmart - I loved being able to buy everything in the one place.
10. Thinking that driving an hour to see a friend is normal.

My Ideas

My most recent idea is to create a body of work based around the Banksia - for those of you who don't know they are an Aussie plant. Up to tonight that was pretty much all i knew about them. I love the fruit of the plant that are hard and woody and resemble cones.

I came across a chair in a shop in Murwillumbah that had been refurbished covered in hemp with a print of a Banksia - I would've have loved it but couldn't justify the $1200 price tag. So this chair has inspired me again to pull out my banksia drawings and start creating.

I've stumbled across some banksia inspired works on etsy - click them for more info

If anyone has any ideas please share and hopefully this will get me inspired to create.

Florence and The Machine

I haven't been blogging at all lately because I haven't had the Internet connected, but I do now SO I'M BACK.
I went shopping with my mum yesterday and I bought a new CD Florence and the Machine - my dad told me about this band and since then I've been hearing them a fair bit on triple J. I had to have the CD.

Hopefully that link will work - the video clip is quirky and I love it. Well I'm avoiding things I should be doing like..... our furniture arrived from America today and it's sitting in boxes downstairs
